The Story behind the Bastard

Again we were looking for a good 3/4 ton parts truck for Beastly. In our searching we found a few nice trucks that were very tempting for their price, but then we stumbled across the M1028 for a price that was worth every penny in parts alone. Not to mention that it was a running driving truck. Having always wanted a good haul, tow , recovery rig. We could not pass on this opportunity.

And so begins another obsession...
Commercially Utility Cargo Vehicles.

With names like Beauty and Beastly in the back of my mind, the name for the M1028 kind of slipped out. Making and hearing comments like "That Bastard will haul anything I need it to", "Its an ugly Bastard", "Keeping this Bastard might mean finding a new home for the Wagon", and the best...
"You Bastard, I want one too!!"

Beauty, Beastly, and the Bastard...
Has a cool ring to it.
