Chevelle could not stand the idea of being in the house with
Kitty when I was out working on the el Camino. Obviously with
health as the major factor, I would clean up and let her
"pretend" with assistance. She has since been wrenching when
every possibly.

Fall
2004
After a
long winter delay I finally had a chance to get the el Camino
back together (with haste).
I removed all the trim studs, and have
patched in the fender markers and antenna holes, and welded up
the emblem holes, and spray some
PPG
DP90LF epoxy primer. Yes it still needs some more, bottom of the
fenders and eventually replace the quarters.

using the stock panels for a template and the top shell,

After a decade, a cheap shot to my radiator killed the old 400....
stuck in traffic on highway 17, temperature sender failed reading
190 degrees, and a small piece of wood sticking out of my
radiator.

Was never happy with the old Carter electric pump. It was very
noisy and never consistent with fuel pressure. Turns out it was mounted to high,
which caused priming issues every time I started the el Camino. I
fabricated a bracket to support the new Edelbrock
Quite-Flo pump at a good height in relation to fuel level, and
added a few new Russell -6 AN fittings and fuel filter.

The
location and wiring for the Ignition had been bugging me for
years. Well I finally had a chance to relocate the box and
coil from the firewall to under the dash. While I was at it, I
rewired the engine harness and moved the headlight harness out of
sight. |
